In a deeply memorable event, the faculty members and research scholars of the Department of Communication and Journalism at Gauhati University gathered to felicitate their Head of Department, Prof. Ankuran Dutta, following his conferment with the prestigious National Teachers Award by the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
The national award ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Education on September 5 (Teachers’ Day) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Prof. Dutta—who also serves as the Director of Gauhati University Press and Station Director of Radio Luit, and previously served as the Director (First Secretary) of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at the High Commission of India in Colombo, Sri Lanka—was recognized for his distinguished contribution to higher education and innovative teaching methodologies.
Returning to the university after receiving this national honor, Prof. Dutta was warmly received and felicitated by his colleagues and scholars in recognition of his lifelong dedication to teaching and mentoring young minds.
