Warrant Officer 2 Palitha Bandara of the Sri Lanka Army, who won a silver medal in the discus throw event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, along with his coach, Bombardier Prabath Dhanushka Perera, met with the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Nilantha Premaratne, on August 20, 2026.
On this occasion, the Army Commander presented special mementos and financial rewards in appreciation of Warrant Officer 2 Palitha Bandara’s outstanding athletic achievements and the dedicated guidance provided by his coach.
